Transformation Efforts

As the Youth Mandate for Education and Liberation reflects, to transform the education systems, we must “permanently end the school-to-prison-and-deportation pipeline and build a liberatory education system based on principles of inclusion, equity and racial justice. By following the vision of youth of color and supporting their education, creativity, joy and dignity.” In addition, we demand comprehensive educational pathways for all young people that are fully funded and inclusive of both institutional and alternative education opportunities.

  1. Fully supported education pathways connected to housing, food, and other basic human needs for all youth and young adults that includes: national free college tuition and student loan debt forgiveness; free tuition to complete technical & trade schooling and robust, fully funded pathways to high school graduation that include adult learning strategies for older youth.

  2. Create alternative funding opportunities for youth exploring traditional skilled crafts and healing arts including farming/tending land, herbalism, birthwork, bodywork and other alternative pathways for education and careers.
